Meetings are typically held on the second Thursday, starting at 1:30. We start with lunch and a presentation by the hosting company.

The host presentation can be anything the hosting company wants to present. Typical topics include

  • An overview of the company's products and/or services
  • Details about how their engineering organization is organized
  • Any particular facet of the company's technology that the presenter thinks is interesting
  • Any other topic that the presenter feels might be of interest to the group

Following the host presentation, is the featured presentation. A list of past featured presentations can be found here.

After that, we have a member forum where members are encouraged to bring their problems and solicit ideas from other members. Often, one or more of the other members will have faced a similar problem in the past, and can give useful advice to the person facing the problem.

As part of the member forum, we have also been getting updates from one of the members about recent events in the cybersecurity area. These updates contain things like: recent breaches, new malware trends, updates to policy issues, etc.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All topics discussed at the meetings are confidential and meetings are conducted under a strict "cone of silence". Nothing discussed in the meeting can be discussed outside of the meeting (the only exception being other CoP members who were not present at the meeting). Meeting participants all agree by their attendance to adhere to this rule and those unable to do so should not attend our meetings. (Note: this is more restrictive than the commonly observed Chatham House Rule.)
